Great Wass Island
Described as a “gem” of Downeast Maine, Great Wass Island is home to unique scenery and growth that can’t be found anywhere else in the state. The Little Cape Point Trail passes through bogs and marshes and opens up into a wonderful coastal view, it is 2.2 miles long and is estimated to take about 3 hours. The Mud Hole Trail is similarly 2.3 miles and intersects the Little Cape Trail, although it is estimated this trail will take around 4 hours to complete considering the more challenging terrain.
