Gates House

Home to the Machiasport Historical Society, the Gates House is filled with old photographs, furniture and memorabilia. Built in by Nathan Gates in 1810 to establish himself in Machiasport, the Gates House now serves as an educational building, highlighting the the area’s history including its connection to sailing and shipbuilding.
