Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse

A classic Maine lighthouse with dramatic views.

One of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine, Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse sits atop a rugged cliff, overlooking the Atlantic. Built in 1858, this working lighthouse marks the entrance to Bass Harbor and provides one of the best sunset views in Acadia National Park. A short path leads to a scenic overlook, where waves crash against the rocks below, creating a picture-perfect setting.
